Skechers approached us to promote their Super Bowl commercial with a pre-release stunt designed to generate buzz. The commercial played on the clever irony of Mr. T "putting the 'T' in Ske'T'chers," highlighting the widespread misconception that Skechers has ever been spelled with a "T"—a nod to the Mandela Effect.
We pitched several creative ideas, ultimately deciding to embrace the Mandela Effect theme with a disruptive and memorable activation. The campaign involved staging mass protests at Super Bowl and playoff games, both inside stadiums and during tailgates. To bring the idea to life, we hired a convincing Mr. T lookalike to lead the charge, backed by a crowd of actors posing as passionate protestors. Their mission: to convince the public that the "T" had been unjustly erased from Skechers. The stunt sparked curiosity, conversation, and intrigue, perfectly setting the stage for the commercial’s release.
