The Duel is a gripping thriller that follows a best friend’s descent into vengeance after discovering his closest companion’s ultimate betrayal—an affair with his girlfriend. To build anticipation for the film’s release, we launched a bold guerrilla marketing stunt that blurred the lines between reality and fiction.
Mysterious posters appeared across New York City with the provocative message: “Dylan Sprouse ruined my life… so here’s his number. Have fun.” Curious passersby who called or texted the number received an automated response, teasing The Duel and immersing them deeper into its storyline.
By strategically seeding images of the stunt across social platforms, we sparked viral speculation, driving organic conversation and media coverage while subtly revealing Dylan Sprouse as the film’s protagonist. To further amplify the campaign, we incorporated a high-impact CGI ad, extending the reach and intrigue of The Duel across digital channels.
The result? A wave of buzz, heightened anticipation, and a marketing stunt as thrilling as the film itself.
Creative & Marketing Lead: I developed the concept for the stunt and crafted a pitch deck to present it to our client. I designed the amateur-style poster to enhance its authenticity and collaborated on creating an automated messaging system that engaged audiences who called or texted the number, seamlessly promoting The Duel.
To amplify the campaign, I sourced influencers and meme pages to generate organic buzz, ensuring the stunt gained traction. Additionally, I strategically distributed images across social platforms like Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram, actively engaging in conversations to fuel speculation and virality.
